It is good practice to prepare for a professional qualification by following a course of study. Diversity’s training prepares students who wish to sit the Diploma in Public Service Interpreting (DPSI) exams. It offers face-to-face guidance and support from an experienced DPSI tutor and the opportunity to network with other linguists. Pathways offered include Specialised Interpreting-Northern Irish law finishes in June just before the DPSI exams.
Structure: The course covers all subject areas from the curriculum for the exam, practice in sight and written translation, practice is consecutive and simultaneous interpreting, group work and discussions as well as individual study.
What you gain: Study packs covering all the subjects from the curriculum for the exam, CD with additional study materials and resources, mock exams and past papers and final exams preparation pack.
Duration: One Saturday per month from 09:30-16:30 from September to June.
Entry Requirements: Fluent in mother tongue language (including reading and writing) and excellent level of spoken and written English. It is recommended that you hold the OCN level 3 or 4 Community Interpreting or experience.
